Discover 10 mind mapping productivity tips for writing and content marketing in yesterday’s guest post on the Content Marketing Institute blog.

Although I illustrated the tips using examples created with Mindjet’s MindManager, most of the mind mapping productivity tips can be implemented using other mind mapping software programs.

These are the tips I wished I had known about 10 years ago, when I began using mind maps to organize my ideas, plan my books, create editorial calendars, and schedule my time!

If you’re already a mind mapping user, and you’re looking for advanced productivity tips for working with large maps, you may enjoy my recent blog post on the Mindjet blog. There are several ways you can change your view of your topic and filter your results.

Avoid the “Curse of the Expert”

Sometimes expertise can get in the way building your personal brand.

In a guest post this week on Dan Schawbel’s Personal Branding Blog, I described 7 undesirable traits that can undermine your personal branding success.

Interestingly enough, a couple of hours after my guest post ran, I visited a local big box store, where one of their sales staff inadvertently talked themselves out of an easy sale…because their expertise confused and frustrated me to the point where I didn’t buy anything!
