During a recent Mindjet User Spotlight Interview, Chelsi Nakano asked me how I’ve been using Mindjet’s MindManager on a daily basis for over a decade as a writing and marketing tool.
The starting point
In my response, I described how a mind map is the starting point to a successful interview–the same way mind maps are the first step to successful articles, blog posts, books, and white papers. This is true whether you’re being interviewed, or you’re interviewing an expert in your field.
Mind maps make it easy to organize ideas, remain focused, and ensure that all important points will be covered.
For example, during the past decade, I’ve interviewed over 500 bestselling authors and marketing experts. Each interview began by preparing a MindManager mind map! (I’ve also written 3 books and published over 1,400 blog posts, preparing mind maps before I begin writing.)
Favorite feature
Chelsi also asked me describe my favorite MindManager feature.
I chose MindManager’s Export feature which does more than simply convert a mind map into a Microsoft Word .doc for editing and formatting. You can also export mind maps as static web graphics (see example), interactive web graphics, and Mindjet Viewer interactive PDFs for sharing via email and as website downloads.
You can learn more, and view the mind map I created for this interview at large size, by visiting my Mindjet User Spotlight: Roger C. Parker interview on the Mindjet blog.
The interview also contains a link to a article I wrote for the Mindjet blog describing 10 Productivity Tips for Working with Large Mind Maps.
