Friday’s upcoming event for authors
Author platforms are critical to publishing success: one of the first steps authors should take before writing and publishing a book is to critically evaluate their current online presence.
Authors should analyze the strengths and weaknesses of their online presence as early as possible. By getting a head start, authors can identify the steps necessary to make themselves more visible not only to prospective buyers of their book, but also the literary agents and acqusitions editors who will also be analyzing their current online presence.
Why author platforms matter
To literary agents and acquisitions editors, an author’s platform provides an important measure of the saleability of the proposed book. It indicates whether the author expects the publisher to market their book for them, or whether the author is capable of marketing the book by themselves.
