Until I read Nick Usborne’s New Path to Riches, I never fully understood the practicality of convert niche market interests into streams of online passive income.

Partly, this was because a lot of the writing about online marketing contains words like “millionaire” and “millions.” This, of course, reflects the “gold rush” mentality of many authors.

Nick Usborne’s New Paths to Riches, however, makes modest, rather than grandiose, claims.

In many ways, Nick’s New Paths to Riches is a case study of his own Coffee Detective website, and the steps he took to earn a realistic $4,000 (or so) a month in consistent extra income.

This is a credible claim, especially since he describes and justifies the reasons for the success of his site. Nick’s story gains even more credibility because he admits that other, similar, sites didn’t succeed as well–because, as he puts it, “there are no guarantees.”

The Expert Next Store

In his New Path to Riches, Nick provides a new perspective on the changes that the Internet has introduced. His emphasis on the way that the Internet makes it possible for “experts next door” to be located is fascinating because it makes sense.

Nick’s examples are great. Besides his own example, he uses the example of the way that–in yesterday’s “big media” world,  it would have  impossible for an expert in  garden bridge to generate a realistic income by writing about decorative bridges for backyard landscapers.

In today’s “long tail” online world, however, Internet search engines offer worldwide visibility offered by Internet search engines.

New Path to Riches doesn’t attempt to provide every implementation detail, but it does provide a thought-provoking guide that prompted me to re-examine my previously negative beliefs about the viability of some of the niche topic areas where I have strong opinions.
