Tuesday’s writing tip for authors
The best way to write a successful book is to use my Reader Persona mindmap, created with Mindjet’s MindManager 8 to get inside your reader’s mind, so you can fine-tune your book’s contents to your reader’s needs. The Reader Persona will help you identify and analyze who you want to read your book, what their concerns are, and how you can best satisfy them.
Reader Personas help you avoid the common mistake of writing a book that you may want to read, rather than a book that your intended market wants to read.
As you can see by exploring the Mindjet Player example above, the Reader Persona map, above, provides an easy way for you to explore your market’s characteristics, interests, and urgent needs.
On a single screen, or sheet of paper, you can detail the characteristics and information needs of 3, 4, or even more, of your reader market segments.
