Lorie Marrero, the creator of the Clutter Diet and a Published & Profitable member, is one of my favorite writer friends–always willing to share good ideas and pass along ideas for others. Recently, she sent along a great cautionary tip for authors quoting others. In her words:
Always Google a person before using a quote they are supposed to have said. Even if it’s the best quote ever! You want to know who that person is and whether they really said it. You might find out you are quoting someone with whom you don’t want to associate yourself and your ideas–or that the person actually did not say that. I have had both experiences lately and was so glad I already have the practice of checking this. You can get quotes on lots of online quote dictionaries but they are not always accurate.
Lorie is the author of the Clutter Diet Book–one of Amazon most successful Kindle electronic books. Lorie recently reported that it is consistently in the Top 10 best-selling Amazon Kindle books–an impressive achievement, since there are over 218,000 Kindle books available! (Read more about her impressive accomplishment.)
Lorie reports that a print version of Lorie’s Clutter Diet Book will be published on January 26th–great news to print lovers who are “clutter challenged.” (Lorie will be personally autographing copies ordered before January 26th.)
If your home, or your office, isn’t as perfectly organized as it might be, consider putting yourself on a Clutter Diet! I did, and it helped a lot!
