Tuesday’s writing tip for authors
The latest mind map I added for Published & Profitable members is a MindManager Speech Planning template that can save time for authors planning and writing a speech to promote their books and their business. The map, below, provides a framework for creating an audience-pleasing speech and organizes all of the details associated with the event in one convenient location.
Successful speeches are similar to successful nonfiction books: the best ones are created around the idea of change. The Speech Planning Map will help you identify and organize the ideas you need to promote your book in the context of your specific audience’s desire for change.
Your audience’s desire for change can viewed in terms of:
- Eliminating specific problems or frustrations such as poor health, wasteful or inefficient procedures, noisy neighbors, or high blood pressure. Things can return to normal once the problems are solved
- Achieving desired goals, such as earning more money, avoiding cardiac disease, or moving to a warmer climate before another year goes by.
Like maps used for planning a book’s table of contents, the key to efficiently using a mind map is to Export it into a Microsoft Word file that can be used to complete the project. MindManager exports the ideas and text in all, or part, of your map into a format you can fine-tuning using your favorite word processing software program. (You can also export maps to PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications.)
Published & Profitable members can download and study 36 mind maps of published books and save time by using 17 MindManager templates to plan, write, promote, and profit from their book.
