Thursday’s profit tip for authors
During Published & Profitable interviews, authors frequently comment that profits from events like seminars and workshops greatly exceed the income earned from book sales, including direct sales, publisher’s advance, and royalties. Presenting successful seminars and workshops, however, requires a great deal of detailed planning. To help authors plan successful events, I’ve added the Workshop Planning Map, shown below, to the member area of my Published & Profitable website.
When opened, my Workshop Planning Map contains space to keep track of the numerous details involved in a successful event. Comments are used for ideas and suggestions. All aspects of event planning can be managed in the map, including:
- Selecting the right location
- Marketing and promotion
- Scheduling topics and presenters
- Preparing visuals and handouts
- Processing revenue
- Event follow-up
My Workshop Planning Map joins dozens of other maps for Published & Profitable members to use analyzing the contents of published books and MindManager templates for planning, writing, promoting, and profiting from their own books.
