Wednesday’s promoting tip for authors
Last Wednesday, I described how Steve Pavlina, author of the forthcoming book, Personal Development for Smart People, was building pre-publication interest in his book by giving away free advance copies to bloggers who requested them (see my original post).
But, there’s more to the story. Even though the book is still about six weeks away from publication, Steve is already aggressively promoting it everywhere that he possibly can. He has creatively promoting his book to those who sign up for his permission-based marketing e-mail newsletter.
Newsletter sign-up confirmation page
For example, when you sign-up for his e-mail newsletter, the confirmation page (above) contains a photograph of the cover of his book plus advance ordering information.
Thank you page
Likewise, when you confirm your intention to receive his newsletter, the thank you message, (shown above), contains another photograph of his book and another opportunity to pre-order a copy.
Conclusion
Authors can never promote their book too early or too often!

Roger,
Thanks so much for your insights in Steve’s book promotion… In addition he will give a free preview book away to those bloggers who will write a post about it, and therein he also asks for, quite reasonably, a note at Amazon as well. Good thinking!
With my own abiding interest in his subject, Self Development, and a blog and podcast that cover broadly cover those several subsets of “Growth Principles” I know a review will be easy, fun and interesting to my readers.
Small price for having access to such excellent copy!- And an interesting way to get the book out to thought leaders, if they qualify with a sizable readership.
Thanks Roger, for connecting us with Steve, I hope my own topic will come close enough to his audience to ask him the same for my own book currently titled: *ADD/ADHD Medications: !0 Indispensable Steps to Predictable Outcomes.*
