Thursday’s profit tip for authors
Coaching offers authors numerous opportunities to supplement earnings from book sales with other income sources. Coaching permits authors to share their expertise with others on a one-to-one or group coaching basis. Milana Leshinsky’s Coaching Millions is a highly useful guide to setting up a profitable coaching practice. It’s an excellent “first read” for authors looking for ways to generate new profit opportunities based on their book.
One of the book’s best features is its emphasis on creating a partnership between different types of coaching and new product development. In Coaching Millions, Milana describes a trademarked “Diamond” model which allows authors to create a multi-faceted business with varied offerings for different market segments.
An example of the book’s tight organization and useful content is the way Milana describes 5 different models that authors can use to deliver their coaching services. These are:
- Individual Coaching Model. This involves 1-on-1 coaching and is limited by the amount of time coaches have available each day.
- Group Coaching Model. This permits authors to better leverage their time by working with more than one individual at a time.
- Training Coaching Model. This type of coaching puts you “on stage,” training others who–in turn–will work with their individual clients.
- Membership Coaching Model. This option leverages the power of technology and can create plenty of free time.
- Info-Product Coaching Model. This can offer the most flexibility, creative satisfaction, and income potential of all.
Authors who have been previously limited by thinking that coaching always meant individual coaching will be pleased by Milana’s far broader view of the opportunities that coaching can offer.
