Tuesday’s writing tip for authors

Authors can use this MindManager tip when creating their book’s table of contents or when writing articles to promote their books. Use MindManager’s Notes tool, instead of adding new subtopics, when ideas come to you. When you select the Notes tool, CTRL + T, MindManager opens a new pane, or writing area, associated with the currently-selected topic or subtopic. This space permits you to enter ideas in sentence or paragraph form. You can immediately describe your goals for the chapter, or write about an idea or point while it’s fresh in your mind.

When ou return to your map view, you’ll notice a small icon appears next to the topic, indicating that text is available. Best of all, when you export your map to Microsoft Word, the Notes text automatically appears in the proper location, immediately following the appropriate topic or subtopic.

By using the notes tool, you gain a valuable head start on the chapters of your book or the sections of your white paper. Without leaving the map, you can begin writing at any time, while ideas occur to you. As a reslt, you may be pleased to find that you’ve already made significant progress on your projects when your project opens in your word processing program.

To try this feature for yourself, ddownload a free, 21-day, full working version of Mindjet’s MindManager here.
