Tuesday’s writing tip for authors
The various tasks involved in planning, writing, promoting, and profiting from a book can now be accomplished in a group environment lead by an published author whose 38 nonfiction books have sold over 1.6 million copies around the world.
A few weeks ago, I attended a briefing previewing the next version of Mindjet’s MindManager, Mindjet Connect. Now that the nondisclosure agreement has been lifted, I can share the news about Mindjet Connect, a new Web 2.0 online collaboration tool that will help many Published & Profitable members make faster progress planning, writing, promoting, and profiting from their first, or their next, book.
Mindjet Connect lets Published & Profitable’s Inner Circle members share mind maps and drafts of their market research, book proposals, table of contents, sample chapters, and marketing plans, with me and other members of their online workgroups!
Mindjet Connect permits:
- Real-time collaboration–simultaneous group editing and brainstorming of maps during online meetings.
- File sharing between Inner Circle members and workgroups. You can determine who can view and comment on your maps and drafts.
- Off-line map editing, commenting, and review of maps between meetings.
- Instant meeting and chat options
Mindjet’s MindManager is a personal computing software program that allows authors to quickly toggle between different views of their projects and switch between an overall view of their book’s table of contents or examine the details of each chapter. Mind mapping also helps users set deadlines, delegate tasks, and track progress.
Newcomers can download a free, 21-day trial version of MindManager 7.0 Pro at www.mindjet.com. Those new to mind mapping can access numerous introductory resources at www.designtosellonline.com.
Contact Roger@publishedandprofitable for more information and invitation to upcoming Mindjet Connect meetings and to learn more about Published & Profitable’s ability to help you plan, write, promote, and profit from a published book.

Mindjet Connect is a welcome extension to MindManager’s list of functions!
I’m looking forward to exploring its potentials and learning to use it together.
I do think some form of voice communication would be more efficient than IM/Chat for real time/ synchronous interactions.

I am a regular user of MindManager and have been using mapping for my business for some time. I have never tried to use it for my writing, and I confess the idea is interesting and worth pursuing.
Please keep me up to date on this subject. The facilities for collaboration and sharing offered by Mind Connect are intriguing and I look forward to hearing more.
