Friday’s event preview

Book covers must sell your book at every step of the way. The text and graphic images on the front and back covers of your book must project an urgency that not only sells your book to readers, but also to bookstore owners, category managers, and distributors. Even the spine of your book is crucial to its success; the spine is often the only part of your book that’s going to be visible when your book reaches a bookstore.

In this exclusive interview for friends and members of Published & Profitable, book cover design specialists Kathi Dunn and Ron Hobart will be discussing what authors need to know about book cover design. You’ll learn ideas and tips that will help you:

  • Characteristics of successful book covers
  • How to choose the text for the front and back covers
  • How to identify your book’s most important message
  • How to write front and back cover copy that sells
  • Where to go for help
  • What to look for when choosing a cover designer

Kathi Dunn and Ron Hobart will also discuss the other marketing materials authors need to promote a profitable and successful speaking careers.

Dunn Design specializes in book cover design for authors, publishers, and self-publishers. Kathi Dunn is a well-known speaker and presenter at author and publisher events around the country, such as the Publishing Marketing Association’s PMA University. Roger C. Parker will be interviewing Kathi Dunn and Ron Hobart on Friday, February 8, at 1:00 PM. E-mail and reserve your place now.

Book covers are so important, especially as more and more sales are made online where the cover must be catchy and pop out from the rest of the website. Looks like a great interview.
